[ə'siːmɔv], Isaac, amerikanischer Biochemiker und Schriftsteller russischer Herkunft, * Petrowsk (Gebiet Saratow) 2. 1. 1920, ✝ New York 6. 4. 1992; seit 1923 in den USA (seit 1928 amerikanischer Staatsbürger); war seit 1979 Professor für Biochemie in Boston (Massachusetts); veröffentlichte über 375 Bücher, darunter zahlreiche populärwissenschaftliche Werke über naturwissenschaftliche Themen, Kriminalerzählungen und -romane sowie Sciencefiction.
